Back on the Facebook and finding old friends, people keep asking me what I have been up to for the last 30, 20, 10 years, depending on who is asking. Remember - I moved around a lot.

I met Terry (- yes, Mr and Mrs Terri(y). How cute can you get???) while out with work friends running around barhopping in LoDo. It comes to our attention that we are three women alone, downtown. One of my friends brought up the fact that John, from the first floor, was downtown with a friend of his from out of town. Now - I only knew John from passing his office on the way to the candy machine, but whatevs. So, we met up with him and his friend. Me and this friend get to talking, and talking and talking. He keeps trying to get me to drink, I have stopped drinking because SIX people have remarked that they cannot believe I left my car in 5 Points. I am desperate to get back to my car, picturing it without tires and windows. I kind of think he is a lush, he kind of thinks I am a bitch, but we keep talking.

We end the night with them walking us to my friends car, so that I can go get mine. He DOES NOT ask for my phone number. After I get my car, we girls go out to breakfast, and they keep remarking about how cute we were together. I keep thinking I am to old for this shit, and that I should have stayed home. He did not ask for my number after all. Over the weekend I think about it some more, and decide I didn't offer up my number either. Monday I give my number to his friend on the way to the candy machine. It was a shitty job, the candy machine was the highlight of my day... His friend makes a few remarks, and then I was saved by his phone ringing. I make my break and wait. Terry called me a couple of days later, and we talked for six hours on the phone. SIX. We talked nightly for the next couple of weeks. He was living in AZ at the time. He would visit here monthly to see his family and friends.

Old friends, new friends, history of, Facebook

So I was contacted on Facebook by and old friend. We met before school when our parents happened to stand near each other during a car derby. We were to short to see over the fence, so ended up playing with each other and listening to the crashes and the crowd. She was my age, her younger brother was my brothers age. My sister was a baby, so it didn't really effect anything.

A year later, we stop at a new bus stop, and my old friend gets on the bus. She was so nervous to get on a bus with people she didn't know, I shouted her name, moved over, and had a instant best friend who lived a couple of blocks away from me. We were only six, but we spent a lot of time running back and forth to each others house. It was a very friendly small town in MN, not sure I would let my six year run all over the neighborhood like we did, but it was the norm back then.

My Dad got transferred to Missouri when I was 10. You make all the motions and platitudes about keeping in touch. Long distance was expensive back then, and I had to get permission to use the phone and all. I think we even wrote a few letters. So wonderful to hear from her and catch up on her life. It was like the last 30 years melted away.

We moved around a lot, after Missouri we moved to the Chicago area, and then to the Denver area. I have set up house here and am staying. My parents have retired to Wisconsin, my brother is career Army and is currently in Nebraska. My sister lives not far from my parents in Wisconsin. Facebook has brought a lot of old friends back into my life. I originally set it up after having Victor in the hospital so that I could easily upload photos for the grandparents. Friends and family joined to see the photos, and then came the old friends. I don't play any of the games or quizes, but I am truly blessed to have these people back in my life.

Really long time, no post

Going to work on being much better at this.

Work still is sucky, but I had Doodle#2 fourteen months after Doodlebug. So - I do have my hands full.

I thought Victor was a easy baby - park him where he wants, when he wants, feed him on time, life is perfect. Marnie makes him look spastic, as long as you don't try to put her to bed. Victor is 2.5 now. I recently took him to see Cars2 and he had a blast, keeps asking to go to the movies again. He loves his Thomas Trains, and Marnie loves to play with him, everyone is happy.

Love these guys!
